My mom was recently featured in an exhibit showcasing women in the arts. She, of course, is a vegan chef and creator of amazing food. Isn't it a great picture?

Tradition
My parents started a tradition years ago of marking our heights on the wall. There are so many people on there, some family, some friends.
And my dad recently acquired this picture of our family from 1917. I love old panoramics like this.
My great grandmother is the one in the middle.
More NYC
A few more scenes from our week in NYC...
Beautiful white flags in the Meatpacking District.
Sleep No More...a take on MacBeth, set in a multi-story hotel. The audience members wear masks and have to wander around the dimly lit hotel trying to find actors acting out their scenes, following them to uncover more of the story. We went with a group of about 10, we all had a different experience.
The cutest water fountain...
Palm Springs/LA
Heath and I made a trip to Palm Springs + LA a couple of weeks ago. Here are the highlights...
Our trip started with a drive from LAX to Palm Springs...Sam kept me company.
Not a bad way to spend the weekend. It was 110 degrees F in PS that weekend.
Unbeknownst to me, the palm trees need trimmed back every year. We watched in awe as a local landscaper performed this tedious task in the heat. Can you imagine???
I love these pillows we saw at a new restaurant in PS...I will now start my search for this fabric!
And my first experience with Vegemite. Our lovely friend Brad is Australian and officially introduced me to this oh so popular treat. It's quite good on crackers with Earth Balance.
And I was a typical Hollywood tourist one evening, so excited to see Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts walking into the Larry Crowne premiere from my hotel room.
And finally, a trip to the Universal wardrobe department...so fun to get lost in here!

Highline expansion
They've expanded the Highline in NYC and it could not be more beautiful.
This stretch of the park has a lovely coating of water, just enough to cool your feet on a hot day.
Happy 4th!
We celebrated the 4th of July in New York this year. We walked over to the Hudson River and watched from the 79th St boat basin. The sunset was beautiful...a perfect night for fireworks.
Peter Gabriel
And just two days after Florence, we went to see Peter Gabriel + the New Blood Orchestra. They were incredible!

Florence + The Machine
A few weeks ago, we went to see one of my favorite bands right now, Florence + The Machine. Venue was hot and crowded, but Florence was stellar.
