Icy day in Chicago

The ice made the eeriest noise...

Lock 24

My parents owned several restaurants while I was growing up...the first one was Lock 24 in Elkton, Ohio.  It was a fine dining restaurant that my dad and grandfather created out of a barn.  My sister and I pretty much grew up there.  She even had her wedding reception there.  I have so many fond memories of it.

Once my parents sold it, several different people gave it a go, but it never had the success that the Lock did.  Now it's for sale and overgrown.  It's sad to see it like this, but in my mind it will always be Lock 24.

Vintage shopping

Some awesome Ohio finds!!!!

An old tin bucket circa 1920s (or so it was marked)

Metal film reels (thanks to Cory Pie!) + a chemists' glass dome

Shopping in Columbus...

Homage has an amazing vintage Coke machine...

that actually works!

And Brigade has some great clothes, but more importantly great store design.
