Winter in New York

Last weekend the north east got a huge snowstorm and Central Park was gorgeous. There were so many people out and about...

Even New Yorkers like to go sledding...

And this past weekend, Heath and I visited the MOMA, which is always one of my favorite NY places to visit.

Christina's World is one of my favorites.

PS 2013

Heath and I had the great opportunity to go to Palm Springs again this January, and even though we were there for work, we had a great time :) This year, I was the one working and Heath was the one lounging by the pool, soaking up the sun.

Our favorite place to stay, The Ace Hotel and Swim Club.

A great restaurant called Workshop, with the best brussel sprouts ever! They roast them in a wood fired oven and then pour balsamic vinegar over them and let it reduce.

One of the locations we shot at...

And a gorgeous hummingbird was kind enough to let me photograph her.

Thanksgiving in the city

Last night we went to see the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade balloons being inflated...it was very crowded, but a really fun atmosphere.

And this morning my nephew and I woke up early to see the parade in person. For those of you not familiar, it is very difficult to find a good spot to watch the parade. It is always super crowded. But...Isaac's charm got us up to the very front. Here's what we saw...

falling water

While in Ohio this week, Heath and I visited Falling Water. It's really beautiful, however we were surprised with the apricot color. I remember seeing pictures of it looking white...

I love that they could just open the windows and listen to the waterfall. Good sleeping noise.

Hurricane Sandy

We were so very lucky this week. We didn't lose power or water, and our neighborhood was the least touched by the storm.

This guy was ready for the storm.

The wind was really strong...

And the waves on the Hudson were quite large.

Here we are with our cousin from France...they were in town for the week :) They were serious troopers - never complaining that half of Manhattan was shut down or that public transportation wasn't working.

The trees took the brunt of the damage.

Some uprooted completely.

And the darkness...here's where it started/stopped on 29th Street.

This picture is from A Cup of Jo - isn't it amazing?

Halloween 2012

We had some friends over this weekend for Halloween...the theme was Moonrise Kingdom.

Heath and I went as Suzy Bishop and Sam Shakusky.

 Our French cousins went as...surprise...French!

And Jay and Jen came all the way from Columbus as Snow White + the Huntsman. (I don't have pictures of our other guests unfortunately).

 Picklebacks...

Then we headed to Cielo, which was way too crowded and foggy (smoke machine).

It was a great night before the storm hit...more on that soon!
